Company: Senior Connect

Who: Bryant Martin, Executive Director

Fun Facts: Senior Connect’s mission is to improve the quality of life for adults aged 60 and over through advocacy, community partnership, nutrition, and other direct services in order to sustain an independent, healthy life-experience.

The City of Kaufman has always provided a facility for Senior Connect to operate from, feed seniors, and provide activities for seniors to enjoy, but the new Civic Center has blown minds!! This new, beautiful, spacious facility not only provides double the space to feed seniors, but also has an exercise room, computer/meeting room, and massive professional kitchen complete with large walk-in refrigerator and freezer and a huge pantry as well!

COVID closed down the standard way that seniors were being fed, but there is a drive-thru hot lunch still being provided, Monday thru Friday. Seniors are also being provided 5 frozen meals weekly as well.

Senior Connect relies on financial support from individuals, families and corporations for nearly half of our operating budget. In addition, clients and participants contribute as they can. Senior Connect contracts with the North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging, the Texas Health and Human Services, the Texas Department of Agriculture, and regional Health Maintenance Organizations to provide specific aging services in Kaufman County. Other revenue sources include the United Way of Kaufman County, Kaufman County, The Cities of Forney, Terrell, Kaufman, Kemp and Mabank, Private Foundations, and Federal and State grants.
